The Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Abubakari Bawah Abdulai, has assured healthcare professionals of the hospital’s unwavering commitment to supporting their work and strengthening the health system.
Dr. Bawah made the remarks at the ongoing 6th Annual Nursing and Midwifery Leaders and Managers Conference in Tamale, where he represented all CEOs of teaching hospitals in the country.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bawah encouraged nurses and midwives to focus their deliberations on producing critical and actionable outcomes. He emphasized that such outcomes, when effectively implemented, would go a long way to address gaps in emergency preparedness and response, as they occurred in previous health pandemics.
He further observed that the conference provides an important platform for aligning professional discussions with national health policies and strategies. This, he said, would not only strengthen the crisis management capacities of nurses and midwives but also foster greater collaboration among stakeholders across the health sector.
The CEO underscored the need for synergy between policy, leadership, and practice, highlighting that outcomes from the conference must directly contribute to building a responsive and robust healthcare system capable of withstanding future health emergencies.
This year’s conference is being held under the theme: “Addressing Public Health Emergency Outbreaks: The Role of Nurses and Midwifery Leaders and Managers.”
