Management has received a delegation from the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS) as part of efforts to assess facilities in the hospital for a residency training programme in ophthalmology. The visit marks an important step in TTH’s bid to secure accreditation to train specialists in eye care for the country.
At an exit meeting with the team, the Director of Medical Services, Professor Alhassan Abdul-Mumin, expressed gratitude to the GCPS delegation for their engagement and thorough assessment. He emphasized that accreditation for ophthalmology residency training would significantly boost the treatment of eye-related conditions across northern Ghana.
Both TTH and the GCPS reaffirmed their commitment to sustained collaboration aimed at strengthening the training and development of healthcare professionals in the country.
