The US Government/Integrated Health Partnership Activity has
donated essential medical equipment to Tamale Teaching Hospital to support
healthcare delivery at the facility. The items were presented to the hospital by
Project Hope on behalf of the US Government. They included nebulisers, vital
signs monitor trolley, urine balloon tamponade devices, penguin newborn suction
equipment, non-rebreather masks for paediatric care, paediatric laryngoscopes,
and vital signs monitors with paediatric probes.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the Chief Executive
Officer, the Director of Administration, Emmanuel S. K. Donkor (Esq), expressed
appreciation to Project Hope for its continued support. He noted that the
equipment would help improve patient care and assured that the items would be
used responsibly and effectively. Present at the event were the Head of the
Department of Paediatric and Child Health, Dr. (Med.) Yaninga Halwani Fuseini;
the Deputy Director of Supply Chain Management, Haruna Adam Baba; and other
staff members.
The five-year project is funded by the US Government and
implemented by Project HOPE, CHAG, and Sandford working in close collaboration
with GHS, MOH, and six teaching hospitals in Ghana.
