Sankofa Medical Equipment, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has donated 15 recliners and five Fresenius dialysis machines to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) to enhance healthcare delivery at the facility.
The donation is expected to strengthen specialist care, particularly in the areas of oncology, accident and emergency, and dialysis services. Presenting the items, the Secretary to Sankofa Medical Equipment, Dr Al Majid Adams, reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to supporting the delivery of quality healthcare across the country.
He said the donation formed part of the organisation's efforts to improve access to quality healthcare by equipping health facilities with essential medical equipment. Dr Majid also assured management of the Tamale Teaching Hospital of the organisation's commitment to sustaining a strong partnership to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Medical Affairs, Prof. Alhassan Abdul-Mumin, expressed gratitude to Sankofa Medical Equipment for the generous support. He said the donation had come at an opportune time and would significantly improve patient care in critical service areas, including oncology, accident and emergency, and dialysis.
Prof. Abdul-Mumin noted that the additional dialysis machines would help strengthen the hospital's capacity to provide life-saving renal care, while the recliners would improve patient comfort during treatment.
He expressed appreciation to the organisation and hoped the partnership would continue to grow, leading to more collaborations that would further improve healthcare delivery for patients in Ghana.
